No. We believe all natural is the healthiest way to raise our animals.

  • WHAT DOES HANGING WEIGHT MEAN?

This is the weight of the carcass when it is ready to be processed . We use the hanging weight to determine the cost of the beef.

This is the last consistent weight taken to go off of, to be fair to our customers and ourselves.

  • HOW MUCH DOES IT COST, ON AVERAGE?

    A half beef weighs at hanging weight between 250-300 lbs +/- x $8.00/lbs = $2,000- $2,400 +/- per half

  • WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN GRASS FINISHED AND GRASS FED/CORN FINISHED BEEF?

*At this time we do not offer an all grass fed option

Grass finished means the cattle have been on an all forage diet. Our cattle are on a grass/corn/grain fed ration for 120 days before processing. The added grain allows for marbling and a flavorful finish to the beef.

  • WHERE IS YOUR BEEF PROCESSED?

We primarily use Wray Meat packing in Wray, Colorado

The general rule of thumb is that you will need 1 cubic foot of freezer space for 30 lbs packaged meat. A half beef would fit easily into a 10 cu ft chest freezer.

  • HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE FOR THE MEAT TO BE PROCESSED?

The timeline for your beef depends on when the cow is taken to the processor. We will provide you with the processing date for your beef so you’ll have a good idea of when to expect your pick up/delivery.

    Here is a typical timeline:

Day 1: Processing date. Hanging weight is determined

Day 2-7: We will contact you with the details and then the processor will follow up to get your cut instructions.

Day 14: Carcass ages for 14 days for optimal flavor and tenderness.

Meat is cut to customer specifications, wrapped and frozen. We will pick up from the processor and then meet the customers for a pickup/delivery and final payment.
